![]() 020” shim and any two shims (or more) can be stacked to set the gap best suited to your application. If you are not sure of which level of power you need, we recommend a Model 47211S Shim Set consisting of 2 –. In your specific application the gap set by the shims should be no more than necessary to minimize energy use. One, two or more shims can be “stacked” for a larger gap and greater force up to a maximum gap of. Three standard shim sizes are available –. The Nex Flow® Air Edger® Flat Jet is available with various size “gaps” all set with a flat stainless steel shim. Air consumption and noise levels are minimized with its special design and configuration while providing a strong blow off force. When bench tested against several other flat jets or flat nozzles, even those with special designed holes or saw tooth style shims, the Air Edger® Flat Jet Nozzle outperformed them all. ![]() The product uses the “ Coanda Effect” to effectively “amplify” air flow in such a way as to reduce energy and exhaust noise while maintaining a strong blow off force. The internal chamber and outside shape are optimally designed to convert the pressure normally lost in the form of noise and pressure drop into useful flow and force. Air knives are ideal for liquid and dust blow off, but when heavier material requires extra “force” to move, this product does the job well. Model 47011 Air Edger® Flat Jet Air Nozzle is designed to provide a powerful stream of high velocity laminar flow and high force for blow off and cooling where air knives may not be enough. The idea is that if you are using a jet flare and should you pop the hose out of the water and lose prime the pressure jet may blast material out of the box, find the angle in which the jet blows over the sluice should somthing bad like that happen. This may be different than yours, I'm not sure if you have a crashbox or a jet flare. The jet inlet position doesn't matter too much on my dredge as I still use the old crashbox style header. The jet log will get better gas mileage than a suction nozzle and provide better suction should you keep it floating on the pontoons. Figure out what rocks to throw away and not hog the nozzle and you will do well. The nozzle restriction will rob your production, fill with small rocks and reduce the flow over the box, the gravels compact, clear the nozzle, and your boxes scour. Don't put any kind of restriction on the nozzle! It's all bad! Get a snorkel and mask and look what is going up the nozzle.
